Live a Lake Como romance



The village of Tremezzo is situated on the water with low porticoed houses in
one of the most beautiful of Lario, narrow staircases up to behind the houses
cling to the mountains, before his gaze sweeps on the vast central basin of the
Lake, on the promontory of Bellagio, on the rocks and the small villages
scattered Grigne along the East Bank. At the end of town, on the
Lake, stands the splendid Villa Carlotta, named due to Charlotte that
received the villa as a wedding gift from his mother, Princess Marianna of Prussia.
The villa was built in Baroque style in the early ' 700,
is at the top of a beautiful garden terrace packed with more than 500 species of
plants in bloom by the sweetness favorite climate. In the
garden there are pergolas, hedges of 150 varieties of camellias, azaleas,
rhododendrons, tropical plants, the Valley of southern ferns, Palm trees,
Cedars, the bamboo garden and conifer trees. Inside the
villa houses works of art of great value. The greenhouse
used for citrus in winter has been turned into an interesting Museum of old farm
tools.
